Donations and Charity Runners Wanted!

June 26th 2023 (Mon.) Registration Start !

women and girls

who are facing enormous difficulties
in developing countries, conflict zones, and disaster areas
including Ukraine and Turkey-Syria.

CARE International Japan is an official charity of the Tokyo Marathon Foundation Charity “RUN with HEART”. From Monday, June 26, 2023, we will be calling for charity runners to support our activities of us through Tokyo Marathon 2024 Charity.

Your donation will be used to support women and girls in developing countries, conflict zones, and disaster areas including Ukraine and Turkey-Syria, who are facing enormous difficulties.

Application Procedure &Schedule

Application

Donation & Charity Runner Application	June 26, 11:00 a.m. - July 13, 5:00 p.m. (JST)
How to Apply	Please select “CARE International Japan” as the donation recipient on the official website “RUN with HEART“ and fill in the required information.
Conditions for Application	・Applications will be accepted in the order of the donation amount in the registration form. ・If there are multiple applicants of the same donation amount, the decision will be based on the information provided in the “Message for Charity” section. ※While this is not on a first-come, first-served basis, we recommend that applications be submitted as early as possible during the application period.
Maximum number of Applicants accepted	110 people

Payment of donations

Notification Date

July 14, 11:00 a.m. – July 19, 5:00 p.m. (JST)

The Tokyo Marathon Charity Secretariat will send an e-mail notification to those who have been accepted.

※Additional Charity Runners may be accepted in case there are unfilled entry places.

Donation Period

July 14, 11:00 a.m. - July 28, 5:00 p.m. (JST)

Please make your payment by the way described in the above-mentioned e-mail for the registration.

※Please note that your registration will be canceled if you miss the payment deadline.

※Under no circumstances will donations be refunded. Please understand this before applying.

Runner Entry

Runner Entry & Payment of Participation Fee

August 1, 11:00 a.m. – August 10, 5:00 p.m. (JST)

Once it is confirmed that the donation has been paid, you will receive an e-mail from Tokyo Marathon Charity Office with entry information.

Please register using the entry form provided in the e-mail and make a payment of the participation fee.

Donation Amount

Minimum 100,000 yen per person

Benefit

・Exclusive to this tournament! Quick-drying sports T-shirt and CARE original goods as a gift. (Not available for international shipping. Those will be handed over in Japan before the race.)

・Invitation to CARE's charity runners-only Facebook group and online social events

Other Remarks

In addition to the donation, payments of a separate participation fee and other fees are required. For details, please refer to the application guidelines on the official website above.

※Donations from those who will not be runners are also accepted from Monday, June 26 at 11:00 to Thursday, August 31 at 17:00. Please contact CARE International Japan for details.

I first learned about CARE in 2020. At that time, I was surprised to learn that post-war Japan had received assistance from CARE. Japan is at peace today, but there are many people around the world who have forgotten how to smile because they spend their days with anxiety due to war, conflict, and poverty.
A smile is contagious, isn't it? It has a power to make those around us smile too.
Through the Tokyo Marathon 2024 Charity, why don’t we bring smiles to the faces of refugees, women and children in developing countries who are experiencing difficulties?
And why don’t’ you run the Tokyo Marathon 2024 with a smile on your face?
Let's respond to the voices of support with a smile, a voice, and a wave, and spread the circle of smiles along the road in Tokyo, throughout Japan, and all over the world.

I chose CARE as the recipient since it is consistent with my idea. I also feel like, once I started to communicate with people working for CARE, I was even more firmly believe that this is one of the best choices. Because people here are extremely hopeful and kind. They go the extra miles to make us feel like we are at home. I definitely feel like the money that we donated to this organization is going to be used for good. 10 mothers evacuated with their babies from Ukraine can receive infant kits, including diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, and thermos bottles.
