CARE International is a leading humanitarian and development organization committed to fighting poverty, reducing inequalities, and helping to save lives in over 100 countries.
About us
CARE is a global leader within a worldwide movement dedicated to ending poverty. We are known everywhere for our unshakeable commitment to the dignity of people.
VISION
We seek a world of hope and equality, where poverty has been overcome, and all people live with dignity and security.
MISSION
CARE works around the globe to save lives and defeat poverty.
FOCUS
We put women and girls in the center of our work because we know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.
Women and girls at the center
We put women and girls in the center of our work because we know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities.
They face specific barriers and yet have the power to lead lasting change in their communities and unique potential to transform lives.
By working alongside women and girls and listening to their solutions, CARE support them to make change where it is needed most.

From 1948 to 1956, 10 Japanese million people received food aid and basic supplies in the form of CARE PACKAGE® boxes. Thanks to the communities’ hard work and international support, Japan gradually recovered from the war’s devastating impact. In time, the country was able to help others facing similar challenges around the world.
In May 1987, CARE International Japan was founded. To this day, it continues to support communities facing crises as the country experienced in the past.

What We Do
With the strength of CARE’s global network and expertise, we reliably deliver vital aid to those who need it most—especially the world's most vulnerable—in both everyday development and emergency situations.
CARE International Japan works alongside partners and communities to fight poverty — as a member of the CARE International Confederation — particularly in Asia.
We focuses on gender equality, making the economy work for women, education, and skills, through fundraising, advocacy, communication, and technical support to implement programs.
Our Projects
A world of CARE
